iNNK PROMOTES SINGLE “DON’T GIVE UP” HOPING TO RAISE NZD $20,000 FOR THE RED CROSS CHRISTCHURCH EARTHQUAKE APPEAL

Gallery

In a desperate attempt to help Cantabrians after the devastating 6.3 earthquake that shook the city of Christchurch on February 22nd 2011 at 12:57pm, iNNK have stepped up to raise money by releasing a dedication track titled "Don´t Give Up". Their efforts hope to raise NZD $20,000 for the Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Relief Fund, which is aimed at directly helping the affected Christchurch residents.

With a death toll of 185 people, this is without a doubt one of New Zealand’s worst tragedies to ever occur. Over one third of the Christchurch Business District, including its central cathedral icon, will have to be demolished or cleared. It will take a lot of time, money and energy for the Garden City to regain its previous splendour.

Show your support. Help the strong willed people of Christchurch get through a time of hardship by donating towards the relief effort and as an added bonus, receive a free download of iNNK's dedication song "Don´t Give Up".

Who are iNNK?
The members of iNNK comprise UK vocalist, Jon May (29) and New Zealand based musician / composer Ian Shephard (26). After being introduced by a mutual contact, the two began work on writing a solo album, which would later be titled 'Inside Out'. During the production process however, Jon and Ian had to face both of Christchurch's large earthquakes and aftershocks.

Following February's devastating blow they decided to put their album on hold, to write, record and produce 'Don't Give Up', a dedication song aimed at making as much money as possible for the Red Cross 2011 Earthquake Appeal.

What is the story of ‘Don’t Give Up’?
The track 'Don't Give Up' is written with the Canterbury residents in mind who have lived through the traumas and sufferings of the earthquakes and aftershocks, which still continue to wreak havoc today.
The message of ‘Dont Give Up’ asks those affected to not lose hope. Its times like this where individuals need to stay strong and to know that everyone around them are there to help. If its possible, help and support others where need be.
People who feel they are alone in this time need to know others are thinking of them.
The track hasn’t been written from an outsider’s perspective as both members of iNNK have experienced the full force of both the 7.1 magnitude earthquake on September 4th 2010 and the 6.3 on February 22nd 2011.
The reason behind the upbeat club sound, aside from it sitting inside iNNK’s genre, was to increase the feeling of positivity, unity and raise spirits of the Christchurch residents listening.
